At Hidden Fort William our aim is to show you the amazing sights that the West coast of Scotland has to offer.
Our guides are qualified, knowledgable and passionate about Scotland. Our Hikes are designed to be enjoyed by all, whether you fancy a gentle stroll to see the fantastic views or a hike to the summit of Ben Nevis, we can make it happen.
Below are some examples of the walks we offer however there are many more options so please get in touch and we can help you decide on your ideal day out.
One of the most scenic beaches in Scotland. Accessible only by foot or by boat with stunning views out to the Isles of Eigg and Rum and views of the Cuillin on Skye. Truly a hidden gem of the West Coast of Scotland.
Join us as far as the road goes up Glen Nevis and we will continue on foot to visit one of the most impressive waterfalls in Scotland. Used in the filming of Harry Potter and is one of the most stunning views around. There are lots of options for this walk from an out and back on the well made path to a circuit taking the adventurous side which most people don't get to see.
Glencoe Lochan is one of our favourite easier walks. Great quality paths and short loops around this stunning Loch, with views of the mountains and Loch Leven. For a longer day this could be combined with a trip to the Hidden Valley
Ben Nevis Summit
Ben Nevis is the highest mountain in the United Kingdom at 1344m tall. The most common way up is to start the day in Glen Nevis and follow the mountain path enjoying spectacular views the whole way up.
Glen Nevis is one of the most accessible and beautiful glens in Scotland. Join us for the day to explore the history, landscape and with stunning views of Ben Nevis; and maybe even the chance to glimpse some of the local wildlife.
The Hidden Valley
Hidden just out of sight in Glen Coe, this hanging valley is a remnant of the last glacial period and is a joy to visit. Hike up the path and appear into the valley where local clansmen used to hide their cattle and enjoy the stunning views up the surrounding mountains.
North Face of Ben Nevis
Join us on a journey up the less travelled side of the mountain. We will take a wander up to the CIC climbers hut underneath the North Face of Ben Nevis and maybe even spot some people tackling one of the many rock or winter climbs on the mountain.
The Pap of Glencoe
A prominent feature on the skyline as you cross the Ballachulish bridge, the Pap of Gelncoe is one of he best places in the area to get a great view of the sea and the mountains. Heading up from Glencoe Lochan is a great way to start the day and there is always time for a visit to the cafe at the end of the day.
All of our walks are lead by qualified local guides who have a passion for the area. Our aim is to share our knowledge and love of Lochaber with you. Local legends, stories, history, geology and knowledge of plants and animals are just some of the ways we can enrich your trip.
The walks we offer are variable in length and differ in character. Some are on excellent path the whole way and trainers might be appropriate, others such as our Ben Nevis Summit hike will require walking boots and a rucksack. The best way to find out more is to send us a message and we can help you decide what to bring.
